Live Harmony Helper App Demos

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the app and interact with it. The Harmony Helper team will be on-site to provide assistance and answer questions.

12PM – 3PM

Harmony Helper Rising Stars: Singing Contest

Attendees wishing to enter our singing competition will have the opportunity to sing 32 bars of a song of their choice. The song should be a maximum of two minutes, to be performed on our booth stage. The performances will be recorded and our Harmony Helper judges will select one winner for each daily contest. There will be one grand prize winner for the entire BroadwayCon weekend. Winners will be announced via our social media channels, and they will be contacted via email.

2017 Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk Award winner, Tony Award nominee for Come From Away. Jenn’s Broadway credits include: If/Then, Chaplin, High Fidelity, Urban Cowboy (Outer Critics Circle Award nomination). Off-Broadway: Beebo Brinker Chronicles, Lucky Guy, Slut, Closer Than Ever. Attendees are welcome to bring an item for Jenn to sign, as well as a Harmony Helper photo that will be provided at the booth.

Autograph Session – Alex Brightman

Alex is an American stage actor, best known for originating the role of Dewey Finn in School of Rock on Broadway, which earned him a 2016 Tony nomination for Best Actor in a Musical. He made his Broadway debut ten years ago in Wicked. Some of his other performance credits include Big Fish and Matilda the Musical. His most current role is as the titular character in the upcoming Broadway musical, Beetlejuice.

Attendees are welcome to bring an item for Alex to sign, as well as a Harmony Helper photo that will be provided at the booth.

Autograph Session – James Monroe Iglehart

James is an American stage actor, best known for his Tony Award-winning role as the Genie in the original Broadway production of Aladdin. His theatre credits also include The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Memphis. He is currently performing in the multi award-winning musical, Hamilton.

Attendees are welcome to bring an item for James to sign, as well as a Harmony Helper photo that will be provided at the booth.

Rising Star Singing Contest Rules

Participants may sign up to sing during an available time slot on a sheet at the booth. Walk-ups are welcome.

Entry into the contest will require:

  1. Completed Contest Entry Form with Video
    Video recording of the contestant performing 32 bars of their chosen song on the Harmony Helper stage (approximately 1 minute). Contestants are encouraged to bring their own music. There will also be a selection of music books at the booth they can choose from.
  2. Social Media Submission
    Submission of the video via the social media channel of their choosing (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), tagging @HarmonyHelper and using the hashtag #ASingersBestFriend for judging no later than one hour after the end stage time for that day (Friday by 4pm, Saturday by 3pm, Sunday by 1pm).

One daily winner will receive a congratulatory video post from their chosen celebrity Harmony Helper Ambassador. You can find the full list of celebrities here or at the booth in the Hall of America II. Winners will be notified via email at 7pm the day of their entry. One overall winner for the weekend will receive a pair of house seat tickets to Beetlejuice and a backstage tour with Beetlejuice star, Rob McClure (to be arranged at a later time).

The grand prize winner will be emailed at 7pm on Sunday, January 13.  All winners will also be announced via social media.

Survey Raffle Rules

All attendees that complete our Harmony Helper survey will be entered into a raffle drawing to win an Apple iPhone XS. There will be one overall winner for the convention weekend. The winner will be notified by email on Monday, January 14.

Survey participants will also receive an exclusive Harmony Helper badge ribbon.
